勇気　Sweeney's Karate　闘魂

Sweeney's Karate for Kids is a program which specializes in building confidence, discipline, self esteem, and leadership skill in children. Through a structured program of  martial arts, children also learn to defend themselves from bullies without  encouraging  them to become more violent. The character building skills they develop help to reduce peer pressure as well. Since bullying is the #1 problem youngsters face today, this program is the best thing you could ever do for your child.

Our program differs from other in that we also include non-violent self-defense methods from Aikido and Jiu-Jitsu. Therefore our kids don't have to hit back  if they need to use sel-defense tactics.

Misson

Sweeney's Karate goal is to serve our students with  the highest quality instruction, professionalism, and service. To achieve our goal we have implemented programs that cater to the individual interests of our community. Our students range from 4yrs to adults. Interest vary from stress relievin, health-promoting exercises to intense, traditional training that the martial arts are so famous for. All aspects of our programs are arranged to build a balanced relationship of trust and respect with our students. We offer discipline and character building in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere that anyone can feel comfortable in.

The main form of martial arts is Shindo-Ryu  a Japanese style with influences from Shotokan Karate, Aikido, Jiu-Jitsu and Traditional Japanese weapons. So if you are ready to feel great, become disciplined, focused, confident and alive then come in and see us. 

Sensei: Berris Sweeney

has been in the Martial arts since 1973 and currently holds a 5th degree Black Belt in Shindo-Ryu Karate and 3rd degree Black Belt in Shotokan Karate. He also holds rank in Aikido, Kick boxing, and Capoeira.

He was an active tournament  competitor from 1975 - 1996 competing in Sparring, Forms and Weapons divisions. He has 3 world champion titles and 4 time European Champion and ranked 2nd in Kickboxing (1980 - 1982 ).
